The National Association for Music Education is divided into six divisions. The Northwest Division comprises Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming. The governing board for the division includes the president, president-elect and past president of the Northwest Division (elected by all members in the six states) plus the presidents of the six states. Presidents-elect and past presidents of the six states serve in an advisory capacity.
The Northwest Division presents a biennial conference in odd-numbered years, with NAfME All-Northwest honor groups included. The conference rotates between Spokane, Washington; Bellevue, Washington; and Portland, Oregon as follows:
2013, 2019 … Portland
2015, 2021 … Spokane
2017, 2023 … Bellevue
Session proposals can be made for each of the conferences from Labor Day through April 15 during the preceding school year. Performing group applications will be available Labor Day and due by May 15 of the preceding school year.
